Japanese martial arts Hakama trousers and the structured pleating of the traditional Scottish Kilt.
This pairing carries identity through construction: two distinct heritage tailoring traditions, East and West, brought into one garment rather than referencing either in isolation.
Cut as a wide-leg trouser and RiRi zipper fly, finished with two pockets, deep front pleats on each leg, and three box pleats at the back — detailing carried over from the Hakama and a layered and detachable pleated kilt panel adds and removes structure depending on how the piece is worn.
Made from heavyweight 100% twill cotton by Midland Mills — hard-wearing, made to hold its shape.
